Hadley Freehub Bearing/Rebuild Kit 2001 - 2011 SDH Shimano style freehubs. Does not work with 2012 - 2017 11 Speed. Does not work with 2018 to mid 2019 Shimano style with XD style internal axles. Does not work with 2020 Hadley freehubs.

Includes Freehub Bearings Ball & Needle, Pawls, Spring, Retainer, Seals and 30cc of Teflon PTFE Oil.

Works with Hadley SDH and SDH-XL hubs 2001 - 2011 Shimano HG 10 Speed

Hadley Freehub Bearing/Rebuild Kit 2001 - 2011 SDH Shimano style freehubs. Does not work with 2012 - 2017 11 Speed. Does not work with 2018 to mid 2019 Shimano style with XD style internal axles. Does not work with 2020 Hadley freehubs.

Includes Freehub Bearings Ball & Needle, Pawls, Spring, Retainer, Seals and 30cc of Teflon PTFE Oil.

Also use light Teflon® fortified oil on freehub pawls

See photo of freehub, this is the original style that has no laser markings.

Note: A 1mm spacer is included in the kit since some freehubs need it and some don’t.

If when gradually tightening the axle end cap and the freehub starts to bind up, you need the 1mm spacer.

If you have the 1mm spacer installed and the freehub has too much gap between the freehub and the main hub shell,

then remove the 1mm spacer but make sure the freehub does not bind up when you gradually tighten the axle end cap.

FREEHUB ASSEMBLY –
1. REMOVE NEEDLE SLEEVE, NEEDLE BEARING AND SPACER FROM INSIDE
FREEHUB BODY. NEXT, REMOVE WHITE RETAINING RING FROM FREEHUB
BODY.
2. PRESS OUT OLD FREEHUB BALL BEARING. REMOVE PAWLS AND SPRING AND
MAKE SURE THAT PAWL POCKETS AND INSIDE THE FREEHUB BODY HAVE
BEEN CLEANED. APPLY SOME HIGH PRESSURE LUBE INSIDE FREEHUB BODY
AND THEN PRESS NEW BALL BEARING ASSEMBLY BACK INTO FREEHUB BODY.
ONCE IT IS PRESSED IN, THREAD IN THE NEW WHITE RETAINING RING.
3. REPLACE PAWLS IN PAWL POCKETS AND PUT SPRING BACK OVER THE PAWLS
BEING CAREFUL NOT TO OVERSTRETCH THE SPRING. OPENING OF SPRING
SHOULD ALIGN OVER THE PIN THAT IS PRESSED INTO THE FREEHUB BODY.
4. SET THE FREEHUB BODY DOWN WITH PAWL POCKETS FACING UP. DROP
SPACER BACK DOWN INTO OPENING ON TOP OF THE FREEHUB BODY. IT WILL
SIT ON TOP OF THE BALL BEARING THAT YOU JUST PRESSED IN. FOLLOW
THAT WITH THE NEEDLE BEARING AND NEEDLE SLEEVE WITH LIP OF NEEDLE
SLEEVE FACING UP(APPLY SOME OIL ON THE NEEDLE BEARING & NEEDLE
SLEEVE).
HUB ASSEMBLY –
1. REMOVE OLD SEAL FROM DISC SIDE END AND INSTALL NEW SEAL WITH
GROOVE SIDE FACING AWAY FROM THE HUB SHELL.
2. THREAD ON DISC SIDE END ONTO INTERNAL AXLE AND SLIDE BACK THROUGH
HUB SHELL. POUR OIL (TEFLON) INTO THE AREA WHERE THE PAWLS MEET
THE GEAR. USE ONLY OIL IN THIS AREA AS GREASE WILL PREVENT THE
PAWLS FROM PROPERLY ENGAGING.
3. TAKE FREEHUB ASSEMBLY JUST AS IT IS SITTING AND SLIDE IT BACK OVER
THE INTERNAL AXLE AND SPIN IT UNTIL IT DROPS DOWN INTO THE GEAR
AREA. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE SEAL THAT IS INSTALLED IN HUB
SHELL.
4. THREAD DRIVE SIDE END BACK ON TO THE INTERNAL AXLE AND TIGHTEN
BOTH ENDS TIGHTLY. SPIN FREEHUB AND MAKE SURE THAT IT SPINS FREELY.
5. IF THERE APPEARS TO BE ANY SIDE TO SIDE PLAY IN THE HUB, THEN TIGHTEN
THE DISC SIDE LOCK RING SLIGHTLY, AGAIN BEING VERY CAREFUL AS TO NOT
OVER-TIGHTEN. THIS IS CRITICAL – AS OVER TIGHTENING THIS LOCK RING
WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HUB SHELL BEARINGS.
